Frederick W. Harding (1878-1975) was born in Leeds, England. He received a BA in 1904 and a DD in 1933, both from Colgate University. He graduated from the Hamilton Theological Seminary in 1907, and was ordained a Baptist minister on September 9, 1907. He married Nellie N. Hurd (1880-1971), and the couple had two children who died in infancy. He had a missionary appointment for Tura, Assam, India, with the Garo mission, and he arrived there on November 8, 1907.
